Subframe, Engine Carrier, Coupling and Stabilizer Bar, Assembly Overview
1 - Subframe
- Removing and installing → Subframe, Removing and Installing
2 - Self-locking nut
- Always replace
3 - Guide Link
- Removing and installing → Guide Link, Removing and Installing
- Replace hydraulic mount if it leaks → 75 mm Guide Link Bearing, Replacing .
4 - Bolt
- 70 Nm plus an additional 180 (1/2 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift the wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
5 - Self-locking nut, 120 Nm
- Always replace
- If guide link is not replaced, remove locking compound from ball joint threads first.
6 - Support for subframe
7 - Bolt, 50 Nm
8 - Bolt
- 150 Nm plus an additional 180 (1/2 turn)
- Always replace
- The threaded plate in the body can be replaced.
9 - Left front level control system sensor G78 and right front level control system sensor G289
- Note that there are different versions with a "long" or "short" lever.
Only use the same version of the sensor. Do not install both versions together.
- Only remove and install or replace completely → Front Level Control System Sensor, Removing and Installing
- The sensor lever must face forward.
10 - Bolt, 5 Nm
11 - Self-locking nut
- 70 Nm plus an additional 180 (1/2 turn)
- Always replace
12 - Bolt
- Always replace
13 - Bolt
- Always replace
14 - Self-locking nut, 8 Nm
- Always replace
15 - Control Arm
- Removing and installing → Track Control Arm, Removing and Installing
- Replace bearing → Control Arm Bearing, Replacing
16 - Self-locking nut
- 40 Nm plus an additional 90 (1/4 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
17 - Connecting link
- Right and left are the same
- Installed position → Coupling installation location
- Removing and installing → Coupling, Removing and Installing
18 - Bolt
- 40 Nm plus an additional 90 (1/4 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
19 - Bolt
- 150 Nm plus an additional 90 (1/4 turn)
- Always replace
- The threads in the body can be repaired using thread inserts made of wire according to DIN 8140 (Heli-coil). The thread insert must be the same length as the threads in the body → Longitudinal Member Threads, Servicing .
20 - Bolt, 38 Nm
- Remove and install the 2 bolts evenly.
21 - Stabilizer bar
- With cast rubber bushing and clamp
- Removing and installing → Stabilizer Bar, Removing and Installing

22 - Bolt
- Mounting on body
- Torque specification. Engine code BFM → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY , BSB → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY , BSM and BVJ → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY .
23 - Engine carrier
- Removing and installing. Engine code BFM → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY , BSB → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY , BSM and BVJ → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY
24 - Bolt
- For securing engine mount
- Torque specification. Engine code BFM → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY , BSB → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY , BSM and BVJ → 10 - ENGINE - ASSEMBLY
25 - Washer
26 - Self-locking nut, 56 Nm
- Always replace
27 - Crossbrace
- Note the installation position: The outer semi-circular opening must be at the top right
28 - Engine mount
29 - Bolt
30 - Bolt, 10 Nm
31 - Noise insulation bracket
