Rear Shelf, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required 

• Torque wrench V.A.G 1783

1 - Speaker grille

2 - Screws (qty. 4)

3 - Rear shelf

• Removing 

• Remove rear seat bench → Rear Bench Seat, Removing and Installing .
• Remove rear seat backrest → Rear Backrest, Removing and Installing .
• Remove D-pillar trim → D-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing .
• Remove narrow D-pillar trim → Narrow D-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing .

• Remove C-pillar trim → C-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing .
• With sun shade: Drive sun shade in.
• Unclip cover - 7  -.
• Pry out speaker grille - 1  -.

• Remove bolts - 2  - (qty. 4).
• With sun shade: Remove lower rear shelf trim → Lower Rear Shelf Trim, Removing and Installing .
• Unscrew bolts for sun shade in luggage compartment → Electrical sun shade threaded connection in luggage compartment 
• With sun shade and/or third brake light: Separate connectors.

• Remove left and right belt anchoring points → Rear Outer Floor Assembly Anchorage Point, Removing and Installing and → Rear Outer Floor Assembly Anchorage Point, Individual Power Seats, Removing and Installing .
• Remove anchorage point for center seatbelt → Center Floor Assembly Anchorage Points .
• Pry out covers of seatbelt guides - 4  - (3x).
• Guide the belt straps - 5  - (3x) out of openings in covers - 6  - (3x).

• Remove rear shelf - 3  -.

• Installing 

• Install rear shelf - 3  - in reverse order of removal.

6 - Openings in covers of seatbelt guides (3x)
