Fuel level sensors, removing and installing: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1999 Audi A8, 1998 Audi A8, and 1997 Audi A8. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
- Follow safety precautions and rules of cleanliness when working on fuel tank. See SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON FUEL TANK and RULES OF CLEANLINESS .
- Before both fuel level sensors are removed, check them with a multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to see if their resistance values are in an appropriate range for the level displayed on the fuel gauge. Since the fuel level sensors are connected in series, the two resistance values must be added together when checking them against the fuel gauge reading.
