Accelerator pedal cable, adjusting

CAUTION:

The accelerator pedal cable is easily damaged (kinked) and therefore must be handled carefully.
A slight kink can lead to cable failure while the vehicle is being driven.
A KINKED CABLE MUST NOT BE INSTALLED.
When installing the cable, make sure that it is aligned between it's supporting mounts and attachment points.

Cable sleeve not secured by locking clip

Insert spacer between accelerator pedal and stop bolt, and attach with electrical tape.
Dimension -a- = 15 mm (19/32 in.)

Depress accelerator pedal to wide open throttle position.
Pull back accelerator pedal cable sleeve until lever on throttle body is resting against wide open throttle stop. Insert locking clip between thrust plate and cable sleeve.
Remove spacer at throttle pedal.
