Frames for radiator and headlights, removing and installing
NOTE:

- Frame for headlights
- Can be removed individually
Removing:
- Remove headlights.
See HEADLIGHT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for up to m.y. 1999 and HEADLIGHTS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for m.y. 2000 on.
- Remove hood lock cable and set aside.
- To remove left frame, unscrew power steering oil cooler from radiator
- Remove locking lever -7- for lock pin.
- Pull off stop buffer -11- and unscrew bolt -2-
- Bolts (4x)
- 6 Nm (63 in. lb)
- Square nuts (4x)
- Nuts (6x)
- 24 Nm (18 ft lb)
- For securing impact absorber -5- to longmember
- Impact absorber (2x)
- To remove, remove bumper. See FRONT BUMPER (UP TO M.Y. 1999) or FRONT BUMPER (M.Y. 1999 AND UP) .
- Checking. See IMPACT ABSORBERS, TESTING .
- Frame for radiator
Removing:
- Remove noise insulation. See NOISE INSULATION PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Remove bumper. See FRONT BUMPER (UP TO M.Y. 1999) or FRONT BUMPER (M.Y. 1999 AND UP) .
- Remove frame for headlights -1-.
- Drain coolant.
See DRAINING .
- Disconnect hoses and harness connectors at radiator.
- Remove radiator coolant fan.
- If present, remove condenser.
- Do not separate or open refrigerant lines
- If present, remove ATF cooler.
- Remove radiator.
- Remove impact absorber -5-.
- Installation is in reverse order of removal
- Locking lever (2x)
- For lock pin
- Disconnect hood lock cable from locking lever and guide clips. See HOOD
.
Removing:
- Pry locking lever at bottom over headlight frame and pull out toward front.
- Remove locking lever by turning it toward engine side.
- Stud bolt
- 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
- Sleeve
- Sealing washer
- Stop buffer (2x)
- Socket-head bolt (2x)
- 14 Nm (10 ft lb)
- Attachment rail
- For fender
- Lock washer
- Always replace
- Nut
- 100 Nm (74 ft lb)
- Mount
- For towing eye
- Sleeve
