Wire and component test using VAG1598/31 test box
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 2005 Audi allroad, 2004 Audi allroad, 2004 Audi A6, 2003 Audi allroad, and 2003 Audi S6. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
- Always use VAG1594A connector test kit to attach measurement devices (e.g. VAG1527B voltage tester, VAG1526 multimeter etc.).
- The terminal numbers on the connector correspond socket numbers on the test box.
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging electronic components, set measuring range before connecting test leads and observe all test requirements.
- Switch ignition off.
- Pull off rubber seal of plenum chamber cover in direct arrow.
- Remove cover -1- toward front.
- Remove E-box cover (arrows).
- Using a screwdriver, carefully pry off retaining bracket (arrow).
- Disengage connector catches (arrows) and disconnect harness connectors -1- and -2- from control module.
- Connect VAG1598/31 test box to disconnected harness connector of Engine Control Module (ECM) (control module remains free). Ground (GND) clip at test box (not visible in illustration) must be connected to Ground (GND).
