Different parking assistance systems are installed in Audi A6 models:

The 4-channel parking assistance with 4 ultra-sound sensor in rear bumper
The 8-channel parking assistance with 4 ultra-sound sensors (each) in rear bumper and front bumper

The parking assistance system monitors the vehicle environment via the ultra-sound sensors in front bumper and in rear bumper. The acoustic distance notification is performed via one or two sound sensors in vehicle interior.

The rear sensors are switched off if a trailer hitch is attached and the trailer plug is connected. The front sensors remain active.

The gap warning starts during reverse or forward driving (acoustic parking system active) at:

less than approx. 60 cm on all side sensors
less than approx. 120 cm for front-center sensors
less than approx. 150 cm for rear-center sensors

The 4-channel parking assistance consists of:

The 8-channel parking assistance has an additional:

Switch for parking assistance with integrated function lamp (LED)
