Rear shelf (folding backrest), removing and installing
The following list pertains to Fig 1.
- Rear shelf
Removing
- Fold down backrest.
- Unbolt lower attachment points of rear left and right three-point seat belts.
- Remove rear left and right side padding. See SIDE PADDING FOR REAR SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Unclip trim -7- and guide -6- for rear left and right three-point seat belts.
- Remove upper C/D-pillar trim on left and right. See UPPER C/D-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
For vehicles with flap in parcel shelf:
- Open flap -8- beneath high-mount brake light -5-(access via luggage compartment).
For all vehicles:
- Unclip high-mount brake light -5- by unfastening spring -4- (access via luggage compartment).
- On vehicles with electric sun shade, loosen screws in luggage compartment, see SCREWS SECURING ELECTRICAL SUN SHADE IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT .
- Pull rear shelf -1- forward in direction of arrow and unclip rear shelf -1- at clip -2- (3x).
- On vehicles with electric sun shade, disconnect connector for sun shade.
- Remove rear shelf -1- upward and forward.
Installing
- When installing, press down rear shelf -1- slightly until clips -3- (3x) and springs -4- (2x) engage.
- Engage clips -2- (3x).
- Perform remaining installation steps in reverse order of removal.
