Transverse Link & Bushing: Installation

  1. Install transverse link with NEW bolts and self-locking nuts. Do NOT final tighten fasteners yet.
  2. Fit shock absorber and fasteners loosely to vehicle. Always use NEW self-locking nuts. Using transmission jack, lift trapezoidal link until shock is compressed 1.6-2.0" (40-50 mm).
  3. Install coil spring. See COIL SPRING  .
  4. NOTE: Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted connections on the suspension links should only be tightened when the vehicle is standing on the ground.
  5. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten transverse link fasteners to specification with wheels resting on ground. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Check wheel alignment. See SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
