Transverse Link & Bushing: Installation
- Install transverse link with NEW bolts and self-locking nuts. Do NOT final tighten fasteners yet.
- Fit shock absorber and fasteners loosely to vehicle. Always use NEW self-locking nuts. Using transmission jack, lift trapezoidal link until shock is compressed 1.6-2.0" (40-50 mm).
- Install coil spring. See COIL SPRING .
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten transverse link fasteners to specification with wheels resting on ground. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check wheel alignment. See SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
NOTE:
Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted connections on the suspension links should only be tightened when the vehicle is standing on the ground.
