Accelerator pedal cable, adjusting
CAUTION:
- The accelerator pedal cable is easily damaged (kinked) and therefore must be handled carefully.
- A slight kink can lead to cable failure while the vehicle is being driven.
- A KINKED CABLE MUST NOT BE INSTALLED.
- When installing the cable, make sure that it is aligned between it's supporting mounts and attachment points.
- Cable attached at pedal and throttle body
- Cable sleeve not secured by locking clip
- Insert spacer between accelerator pedal and stop bolt, and attach with electrical tape.
Dimension -a- = 15 mm (19/32 in.)
- Depress accelerator pedal to wide open throttle position.
- Pull back accelerator pedal cable sleeve until lever on throttle body is resting against wide open throttle stop. Insert locking clip between thrust plate and cable sleeve.
- Remove spacer at throttle pedal.
