Fault memory, interrogating

Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051. See VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC, TESTING AND INFORMATION SYSTEM VAS 5051, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS and select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from list. Engine should be idling.

NOTE: If engine will not start, crank it with starter for at least 5 seconds and then always leave ignition switched on.

From list -1- select diagnostic function "02 - Interrogating fault memory".

- Faults detected:
- Print out information on screen or self-diagnosis log.
- End function "02 - Interrogating fault memory" by touching --> key.

- Eliminate fault(s) in line with fault table. See FAULT TABLE (16394 TO 17607) .
- Select diagnostic function "02 - Interrogating fault memory" again in list and erase fault memory. See FAULT MEMORY, ERASING .
- Select diagnostic function "06 - End of output" in list. See ENDING OUTPUT .
- No fault detected:
- Select diagnostic function "06 - End of output" in list. See ENDING OUTPUT .
