Check Control Module Versions (function 01): Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Audi S8, 2003 Audi A8, 2002 Audi S8, 2002 Audi A8, and 2001 Audi S8. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The information displayed is used in conjunction with a DTC table which has information on the possible causes for pinpointed repair steps.

Test requirements:

All fuses OK according to wiring diagram
Voltage supply OK (at least 11.5 V).
Scan Tool VAG 1551 or VAG 1552 connected.

NOTE:

Connecting Scan Tool. See VAS 5051 TESTER OR VAG 1551 SCAN TOOL, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .
The following description applies only to Scan Tool VAG 1551.

Switch on ignition.
Switch on printer with the PRINT button (indicator lamp in button lights up).
Press button -1- to select operating mode 1, "Rapid data transfer".

Press buttons -1- and -7- to input "Instrument Cluster" address word 17.

NOTE: Because the immobilizer is integrated in the instrument cluster, the same address word must be used as for the instrument cluster.
