Right Cylinder Head Intake Or Exhaust

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine coolant recovery bottle. Refer to COOLING/ENGINE/BOTTLE, COOLANT RECOVERY/INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the VVT solenoid.
  4. Remove the screw (2a).
  5. Remove the VVA solenoid (2b) complete with O-ring (2c).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Remove the old O-ring and install a new O-ring to the VVT solenoid.

  2. Install the VVT solenoid (1a) with new O-ring and tighten the retaining screw (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the wiring harness connector (2) to the VVT solenoid.
  4. Install the engine coolant recovery bottle. COOLING/ENGINE/BOTTLE, COOLANT RECOVERY/INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. If the VVT solenoid was replaced, connect the diagnostic scan tool, navigate to "ECM" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" routine.
