Right Intake Or Exhaust

NOTE:

If the camshaft position sensor is replaced, connect the diagnosis scan tool, select "PCM", select "Miscellaneous functions" menu and then perform the "Reset Adaptive Parameters" routine.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the air cleaner inlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Remove the retaining screw (1a) and the camshaft position sensor (1b).

  5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1a) from the camshaft position sensor (1b).
  6. Remove the camshaft position sensor and O-ring.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Inspect the camshaft position sensor and the sensor wiring harness.

  2. Install the camshaft position sensor (1a) with a new O-ring and tighten the screw (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the wiring harness connector (2) to the camshaft position sensor.
  4. Install the air cleaner inlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. If the camshaft position sensor is replaced, connect the diagnosis scan tool, select "PCM", select "Miscellaneous functions" menu and perform the "Reset adaptive parameters" routine.
