Right Camshaft Chain Guide

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the powertrain from the vehicle, separate the engine from the transmission and place the engine on a maintenance stand. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the flexplate. Refer to FLEXPLATE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the timing chain cover and the right camshaft chain tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the right camshaft chain tensioner arm. Refer to GUIDES, TIMING CHAIN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Remove the bolts (1a) and the chain guide (1b).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Remove all sealant residues.

  2. Install the chain guide (1a) and tighten the bolts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the right camshaft chain tensioner arm. Refer to GUIDES, TIMING CHAIN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the right camshaft chain tensioner and the timing chain cover. Refer to TENSIONER, ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Install the flexplate. Refer to FLEXPLATE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the engine from the maintenance stand, install the transmission to the engine and install the powertrain in the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
