Left Camshaft Chain TENSIONER Arm

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove the powertrain from the vehicle, separate the engine from the transmission and place the engine on a maintenance stand. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the flexplate. Refer to FLEXPLATE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the timing chain cover and the left camshaft chain tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Remove the bolt (1a) and the chain tensioner arm (1b) complete with bushing (1c) and spacer (1d).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Remove all sealant residues.

  2. Install the chain tensioner arm (1a) complete with spacer and bushing (1c) and tighten the screw to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the left camshaft chain tensioner and the timing chain cover. Refer to TENSIONER, ENGINE TIMING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the flexplate. Refer to FLEXPLATE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the engine from the maintenance stand, install the transmission to the engine and install the powertrain in the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
