Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the Lift gate lower trim panel
3. Remove the lift gate upper trim panel. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PANEL, TRIM, LIFTGATE LOWER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

4. Using a suitable cutting tool, cut the gasket (1b) from the base of the Center High Mounted Stop Lmap (CHMSL).
5. Disconnect the CHMSL wire harness connector (3a).
6. Remove the fasteners (2a).
7. Remove the CHMSL.

INSTALLATION 

1. Inspect the CHMSL and the wiring harness connector integrity.

2. Position the CHMSL (1a) and securely tighten the fasteners (1b).
3. Connect the wiring harness connector (2a) to the CHMSL.
4. Using a suitable adhesive, install the gasket for the CHMSL.
5. Install the lift gate upper trim panel. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PANEL, TRIM, LIFTGATE LOWER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
6. Install the lift gate lower trim panel.
7. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
