Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the screws (1a) and remove the liftgate handle from the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the harness (2a).

  4. Remove the screws (1a) from the interior lower trim panel (1b).
  5. Remove the lower trim panel screws (2a).
  6. Remove the lower trim panel (1b) from its position.

  7. Cut the retaining strap (1a) securing the wiring (1b) to the lower trim panel (1c).
  8. Remove the lower trim panel by disconnecting the harness (1b) and removing the liftgate handle (2a)

INSTALLATION

  1. Position the liftgate handle (2a) into the lower trim panel (1c) and connect the wire harness (1b).
  2. Secure the wiring (1b) with a new zip tie (1a) to the lower trim panel (1c).

  3. Position the lower trim panel (1a) to the vehicle.
  4. Install the screws (3a) and tighten securely.
  5. Install the screws (2a) and tighten securely.

  6. Connect the wire harness (1a).
  7. Position the liftgate handle (2a) to the lower trim panel.
  8. Install the screws (2b) and tighten securely.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
