DTC C1C03-11

DTC C1C03-11  : Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Signal Circuit 2 Short To Ground

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame
C1C03-11 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Signal Circuit 2 Short To Ground    

DTC (Electric brake booster)

  1. DTC check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then wait 5 seconds or more.

    NOTE:  Do not open and close the driver's door.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame
    C1C03-11 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Signal Circuit 2 Short To Ground    
    C1C04-11 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Power Circuit Short To Ground or Battery    

    Is DTC C1C03-11 indicated?

    YES 

    If only C1C03-11 is indicated, go to step 2.

    YES 

    If DTC C1C04-11 is also indicated, go to DTC C1C04-11 .

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting . If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Shorted wire check (PTS2 line to ground)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode with driver's door open.

    -2. Wait for 3 minutes.

    NOTE:  Do not close the driver's door.

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Electric brake booster 26P connector
    Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector

    -4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Electric brake booster 26P connector
      Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Electric brake booster 26P connector No. 21 
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short to body ground in the wire between the electric brake booster and the brake pedal stroke sensor.

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Shorted wire check (PTS2 line to PTS GND line)

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Electric brake booster 26P connector
      Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Electric brake booster 26P connector No. 21 
    Test point 2 Electric brake booster 26P connector No. 5 

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short in the wire between the electric brake booster and the brake pedal stroke sensor.

    NO 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric brake booster 26P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric brake booster .
