Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Symptom Troubleshooting - ACC indicator (on the MID) does not go off (Without Auto Idle Stop System)

ACC indicator (on the MID) does not go off 

  1. DTCs check

    -1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
       

    DTC (IDAS)

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. CAN gateway system DTC check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
       

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting .

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Fuse check 1

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Check the following fuse.

    Fuse No. B37

    Is the fuse OK?

    YES 

    The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 4.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then to the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. B37 fuse circuit.

  4. Fuse check 2

    -1. Check the following fuse.

    Fuse No. B36

    Is the fuse OK?

    YES 

    The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 5.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then to the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. B36 fuse circuit.

  5. Gauge control module operation check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Check if all of the gauge indicators come on for a few seconds.

    Do all the gauge indicators on?

    YES 

    Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Go to the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .

  6. Open wire check (IG1 OPTION line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle ON mode
      Millimeter wave radar 8P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Millimeter wave radar 8P connector No. 1
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    The IG1 OPTION wire is OK. Go to step 7.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the millimeter wave radar and the under-dash fuse/relay box.

  7. Open wire check (GND line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Check for continuity between the following test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Millimeter wave radar 8P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Millimeter wave radar 8P connector No. 8
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Go to step 8.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the millimeter wave radar and body ground at G301.

  8. F-CAN circuit communication check

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -3. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    Which result is indicated?

    Gauge control module (Bus C) is Not Available

    Go to step 9.

    Millimeter wave radar (Bus D) is Not Available

    Go to step 10.

    Millimeter wave radar (Bus E) is Not Available

    Go to step 11.

    Millimeter wave radar and gauge control module are Detected

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .

  9. Open wire check (F-CAN C_H, F-CAN C_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
    Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 5:
    Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 20
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 13:
    Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 21

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Check for loose terminals in the CAN gateway 16P connector and gauge control module connector A (32P). If they are OK, substitute a known-good gauge control module , then retest. If the indicators come on then go off after substitution, replace the original gauge control module .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the CAN gateway.

  10. Open wire check (F-CAN D_H, F-CAN D_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      Millimeter wave radar 8P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 7:
    Test point 2 Millimeter wave radar 8P connector No. 7
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 15:
    Test point 2 Millimeter wave radar 8P connector No. 6

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the millimeter wave radar 8P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace millimeter wave radar .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the millimeter wave radar and the CAN gateway.

  11. Open wire check (F-CAN E_H, F-CAN E_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      Millimeter wave radar 8P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 16:
    Test point 2 Millimeter wave radar 8P connector No. 7
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 8:
    Test point 2 Millimeter wave radar 8P connector No. 6

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the millimeter wave radar 8P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace millimeter wave radar .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the millimeter wave radar and the CAN gateway.
