Audio System - Audio power switch will not turn on (With Navigation) (2013 2014 2015)

Audio power switch will not turn on 

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle battery condition first .
• Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Determine possible failure area (navigation system, others)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

   -2. Check if the navigation display unit displays the Acura globe screen.

   Is the Acura globe screen displayed?

   YES 

   Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Go to No picture is displayed troubleshooting .

2. Determine possible failure area (audio system, others)

   -1. Check if the clock information appears on the audio-navigation switch panel display.

   Is there clock information displayed?

   YES 

   Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Go to Audio system information does not display on the audio-navigation switch panel display troubleshooting .

3. Problem verification

   -1. Press the VOLUME/POWER knob on to see if audio system turns on.

   Does the audio system operate properly, and does the audio sound normal?

   YES 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

   NO 

   The failure is duplicated, go to step 4.

4. Shorted wire check (PWR SW line)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector

   Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P)

   -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector: disconnected
   	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	PWR SW
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P) No. 31 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   There is a short to body ground in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the audio-navigation switch panel. Replace the affected shielded harness.

   NO 

   The PWR SW wire is not shorted to ground. Go to step 5.

5. Shorted wire check (PWR SW line to SH VOL ENC line)

   -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector: disconnected
   	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	PWR SW, SH VOL ENC
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P) No. 31 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P) No. 13 (GRY)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   There is a short in the wires between the audio-navigation unit and the audio-navigation switch panel. Replace the affected shielded harness.

   NO 

   The PWR SW and the SH VOL ENC wires are not shorted. Go to step 6.

6. Open wire check (PWR SW line)

   -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector: disconnected
   	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	PWR SW
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P) No. 31 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector No. 23 (PNK)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   The PWR SW wire is OK. Go to step 7.

   NO 

   There is an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the audio-navigation switch panel. Replace affected shielded harness.

7. Audio-navigation switch panel check 1

   -1. Reconnect the audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector .

   -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	PWR SW
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector No. 23 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Replace the audio-navigation switch panel .

   NO 

   Go to step 8.

8. Audio-navigation switch panel check 2

   -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition

   OFF mode, press and holding the VOLUME/POWER knob

   	Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	PWR SW
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation switch panel 24P connector No. 23 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Replace the audio-navigation unit .

   NO 

   Replace the audio-navigation switch panel .
