No Picture Is Displayed
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- Check if the display mode (
) button has been pressed, and turned off the display (see the Navigation Manual for more information).
- If the audio-navigation unit displays an error message when you turn on the navigation system, follow the instructions .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification 1
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-2. Check if the navigation display unit displays the Acura globe screen.
Is the Acura globe screen displayed?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
The failure is duplicated, go to step 3.
- Problem verification 2
-1. Check if the navigation display unit displays the disclaimer screen.
Is the disclaimer screen displayed?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO: USA and Canada models
The failure is duplicated, go to step 15.
NO: Except USA and Canada models
The failure is duplicated, go to step 16.
- Determine possible failure area (navigation display unit power and ground circuit, others)
-1. Shield the navigation display unit from the sun with your hand, and check that the display is back lit (only the back light is on).
Can you see the back light?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 11.
- Open wire check (+B BACK UP line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The +B BACK UP wire is OK. Go to step 5.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the No. A29 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the audio-navigation unit.
- Open wire check (ACC line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The ACC wire is OK. Go to step 6.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the No. B19 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio-navigation unit.
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The GND wire is OK. Go to step 7.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and body ground (G504).
- Shorted wire check (DISPLAY VBS line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio-navigation unit connector F (16P) Navigation display unit 36P connector -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
There is a short to body ground in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the navigation display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The DISPLAY VBS wire is not shorted to ground. Go to step 8.
- Shorted wire check (DISPLAY VBS line to another lines)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

The DISPLAY VBS wire is not shorted in the wires. Go to step 9.
- Open wire check (DISPLAY VBS line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

There is an open in the wire between the audio-navigation unit and the navigation display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Audio-navigation unit check
-1. Substitute a known-good navigation display unit .
-2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original navigation display unit.
NO
- Fuse check
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Check the following fuses.
Fuse No. A29 (10 A) Location Under-hood fuse/relay box Fuse No. B19 (7.5 A) Location Under-dash fuse/relay box Are the fuses OK?
YES
Go to step 12.
NO
Replace the fuse(s), and recheck. If the fuse(s) blows again, check for a short in the No. A29 (10 A) fuse and/or the No. B19 (7.5 A) fuse circuits.
- Open wire check (+B BACK UP line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES: USA models
Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) .
YES: Canada models
NO
Go to step 16.

-2. Disconnect the following connector.
HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector -3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-4. Check if the navigation display unit displays the disclaimer screen.
Is the disclaimer screen displayed?
YES
Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit .
NO
Go to step 17.
- Open wire check (GA BUS+ line, GA BUS- line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.

- Audio-navigation unit check
-1. Substitute a known-good navigation display unit .
-2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original navigation display unit.
NO
