No sound is heard from the speaker(s) (display is normal)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- Set the fader and the balance positions to the center.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-2. Turn on the audio system, and check for sound in each mode (AM/FM, XM, AUX, USB, and CD).
Is the sound OK in each mode?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose connections at the audio-navigation unit and speaker(s).
NO: No sound is heard in all modes
The failure is duplicated in all modes, go to step 2.
NO: No sound is heard in AM/FM mode
Go to Poor AM or FM radio reception interference (with navigation) troubleshooting .
NO: No sound is heard in AUX mode
Go to Auxiliary input sound is low or cannot be heard (with navigation) troubleshooting .
NO: No sound is heard in USB mode
Go to USB input sound is low or cannot be heard (with navigation) troubleshooting .
NO: No sound is heard in XM mode; USA models
NO: No sound is heard in XM mode; Canada models
NO SOUND IS HEARD FROM THE SPEAKER (S) (DISPLAY IS NORMAL) (WITH NAVIGATION) (2013-15).
NO: No sound is heard in CD mode
- Determine possible failure area (volume level, others)
-1. Check that the volume knob is not set to the MIN level.
Is it at the MIN level?
YES
Raise the volume level, and recheck the function.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Determine possible failure area (audio-navigation unit, others)
-1. Do the Self-Diagnostic Function, and use the speaker check mode .
Did all speakers produce a tone?
YES
Replace the audio-navigation unit .
NO
Go to step 4.
- Fuse check
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. B37 (20 A) Location Under-dash fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Replace the fuse, and recheck. If the fuse blows again, check for a short in the No. B37 (20 A) fuse circuit.
- Open wire check (+B PREMIUM AMP line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The +B PREMIUM AMP wire is OK. Go to step 6.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the No. B37 (20 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the stereo amplifier.
- Determine possible failure area (SWD+B line, others)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Stereo amplifier connector B (28P) -2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The SWD+B wire is OK. Go to step 9.

-2. Disconnect the following connector.
ANC/active sound control unit 20P connector -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Repair an short in the wire between the stereo amplifier and the audio-navigation unit.
NO
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Reconnect stereo amplifier connector B (28P) .
-3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
-4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The GND wire is OK. Go to step 10.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the stereo amplifier and body ground (G504).
- Shorted wire check (ELS DATA+ line, ELS DATA- line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Stereo amplifier connector B (28P) Audio-navigation unit connector E (36P) -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

- Shorted wire check (ELS DATA+ line to ELS DATA- line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Stereo amplifier connector A (18P) -2. Check for continuity between these test points and body ground individually.

-1. Check the speaker(s) with no sound for any damage.
Is there any damage?
YES
Replace the faulty speaker(s) .
NO
Go to step 16.
- Determine possible failure area (speaker, others) 2
-1. Test the speaker(s) .
Is the speaker(s) OK?
YES
Go to step 17.
NO
- Open wire check (SPKR lines, SUB WOOFER lines)
-1. Reconnect all the speaker connectors except tweeter 2P connector .
-2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

-2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original stereo amplifier.
NO
