Exterior Lights (MICU) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022)

NOTE: 

1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

2. Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connectors B, C, D, P, T, and W

.NOTE:  All connector views are shown from the wire side of the female terminals.

Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired resultis not obtained
C19.C12 TAN.YEL Connect terminal C19 and ground with a jumper wire Measure the voltage between terminal C12 and ground:There should be battery voltage.
  • Faulty relay circuit board
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
D29 TAN Under all conditions Connect terminal to ground with a jumper wire:The left headlight (low beam) should come on.
  • Faulty relay circuit board
  • Faulty left LED control unit assembly
  • Poor ground (G301) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Connect terminal to ground with a jumper wire:The right headlight (low beam) should come on.
  • Faulty relay circuit board
  • Faulty right LED control unit assembly
  • Poor ground (G201) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
C18.C1 PNK.WHT Under all conditions Connect terminals C18 and C1 with a jumper wire:The left headlight (high beam) should come on.
  • Faulty left LED control unit assembly
  • Poor ground (G301) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
C14.C1 WHT.WHT Under all conditions Connect terminals C14 and C1 with a jumper wire:The right headlight (high beam) should come on.
  • Faulty right LED control unit assembly
  • Poor ground (G201) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
P11 PNK Disconnect keyless access/TPMS control unit connector A (32P) Check for continuity between terminal P11 and keyless access/TPMS control unit connector A (32P) terminal No. 2:There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire
D20 BLU Under all conditions Connect terminal to ground with a jumper wire:The fog lights should come on.
  • Blown No. A12 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • Blown bulb(s)
  • Faulty fog light relay
  • An open or high resistance in the wire

Reconnect the connectors to the under-dash fuse/relay box, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired resultis not obtained
D28 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. A29 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
C1 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. A2-4 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
W6 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G501)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
B32 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G602)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
T1.T5 ORN.BLK Combination light switch OFF Measure the voltage between terminals T1 and T5:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Combination light switch in any position other than OFF Measure the voltage between terminals T1 and T5:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
T3.T5 GRY.BLK Combination light switch (PARKING position) ON Measure the voltage between terminals T3 and T5:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Combination light switch OFF Measure the voltage between terminals T3 and T5:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
T2.T5 PNK.BLK Combination light switch (headlight) ON Measure the voltage between terminals T2 and T5:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Combination light switch OFF Measure the voltage between terminals T2 and T5:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
T11.T5 RED.BLK Combination light switch lever pulled (Passing) Measure the voltage between terminals T11 and T5:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Combination light switch lever released (OFF) Measure the voltage between terminals T11 and T5:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
T12.T5 LT BLU.BLK Combination light switch (Dimmer) in high beam position Measure the voltage between terminals T12 and T5:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Combination light switch (Dimmer) in low beam position Measure the voltage between terminals T12 and T5:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
T4.T5 PUR.BLK Fog light switch ON Measure the voltage between terminals T4 and T5:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Fog light switch OFF Measure the voltage between terminals T4 and T5:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty combination light switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
