Glove Box Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

1. Remove the passenger's dashboard side panel (A).
   • 1. Open the front door.
   • 2. Open the glove box.
   • 3. Gently pull the rear edge of the lid outward by hand to release the hooks (B).
   • 4. Detach the clips and the hooks (C) by pulling the panel outward.
   • 5. Release the hooks (D).

2. Remove the passenger's dashboard trim (see SPEAKER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
3. Close the glove box.
4. Remove the bolts (A) and the screws (B).

5. Remove the glove box (A).
   • 1. Pull the glove box by hand to detach the clips.
   • 2. While holding the glove box, disconnect the glove box light connector (B) and the trunk lid opener main switch connector (C) (Sedan).

6. Install the glove box in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
   • If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
   • Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
   • Push the clips and the hooks into place securely.
