Reverse Lockout Solenoid Test

  1. Remove the reverse lockout solenoid (see REVERSE LOCKOUT SOLENOID DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY  ).
  2. Connect jumper wires from the battery positive terminal to reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector terminal No. 2, and from the battery negative terminal to reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector terminal No. 1.

  3. Make sure the reverse lockout solenoid works. If the reverse lockout solenoid does not work, replace it.
    NOTE: The inhibitor should be pushed out when applying battery voltage to the solenoid, and the inhibitor should be released when there is no battery voltage at the solenoid.
