Intermediate Shaft Removal
- Drain the transmission fluid, then reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer:
- Remove exhaust pipe A:
- Remove the right front driveshaft (see FRONT DRIVESHAFT REMOVAL
).
- Remove the rear warm up three way catalytic converter (rear WU-TWC) bracket (A).

- M/T model: Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor cover (A).

- M/T model: Disconnect the CKP sensor connector (A), and remove the sensor harness clamp bracket bolt (B).

- M/T model: Swing the sensor harness (C) out of the way to prevent damaging it.
- Remove the flange bolt (A) and the two dowel bolts (B).

- Remove the intermediate shaft (A) from the differential. Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal until it is clear of the differential to prevent damaging the oil seal (B).
