The HDS does not communicate with the blind spot information system (BSI)
- If the system malfunctions, always check for DTCs with the HDS.
- If a DTC is stored; troubleshoot the DTC first
- Test the battery (see
BATTERY TEST
).
Is the battery OK?
YES -Go to step 2.
NO -Charge or replace the battery (see BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ) as needed, then recheck.
- Connect the HDS to the data link connector.
- Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- Make sure the HDS can communicate with the body electrical system.
Is communication possible?
YES -Go to step 5.
NO -Do the MICU unit input test (see MICU INPUT TEST ).
- Check for body electrical system DTCs with the HDS (see
GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION
).
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES -Troubleshoot the indicated body electrical system DTC(s), and retest.
NO -Go to step 6.
- Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
- Check the connection at the BSI control unit 16P connector.
Is the connection OK?
YES -Go to step 8.
NO -Repair the poor connection, and recheck.
- Disconnect the BSI control unit 16P connector.
- Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- Measure the voltage between BSI control unit 16P connector terminals No. 7 and No. 10.
