The BSI indicator does not go off, or does not come on
NOTE:
- If the system malfunctions, always check for DTCs with the HDS.
- If a DTC is stored, troubleshoot the DTC first.
- Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
- Check that the BSI indicator comes on for about 2-5 seconds and then goes off.
Does the BSI indicator go off?
YES -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO -Go to step 3.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS (see HOW TO RETRIEVE DTCS
).
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES -Troubleshoot the indicated DTC(s).
NO -Go to step 4.
- Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function (see
SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
).
Does the side BSI indicator flash?
YES -Replace the BSI control unit (see BSI CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
NO -Replace the gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ), and recheck.
