Radio stays powered with the ignition switch OFF
NOTE:
Always check for aftermarket accessories plugged into the vehicle accessory power sockets.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Push the power switch OFF or turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) to see if the audio unit turns OFF.
Does the audio unit turn OFF?
YES - Operation is normal.
NO - Go to step 3.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Remove the audio-HVAC display module (see AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
). Disconnect the audio unit connector A (20P).NOTE: Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
- Measure the voltage between the audio unit connector A (20P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.

Is there voltage?
YES - Repair short in the wire between No. 32 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio unit.
NO - Replace the audio unit (see AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
