Crankshaft Position Sensor: Description and Operation

This combined sensor provides separate signals to the ECU to calculate both ignition angle and fuel injection. To accomplish this, an inductive sensor mounted on the front of the engine block monitors rotation of a special sprocket installed on the crankshaft.
