Removal & Installation
REMOVAL
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
Battery, disconnection. Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING
Remove bushing push rod. Refer to: BUSHING PUSH ROD
Remove the wiper mechanism, windscreen. Refer to: WIPER MECHANISM, WINDSHIELD
Remove the marked part.
- Torque: Strut and spring assembly bar to spring strut turret, 30 Nm
- Torque: M6, 10 Nm
ALTERNATIVE 1
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the screw.
Fold marked part aside.
Torque: M8, 24 Nm
ALTERNATIVE 2
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the screw.
Fold marked parts aside.
Torque: M8, 24 Nm
ALL VEHICLES
Pull carefully.
Loosen the nuts.
Fold marked parts aside.
Torque: Ø6 mm diameter brake line, 14 Nm
Disconnect the connector.
Fold marked part aside.
Remove the nuts.
Torque: Master cylinder, to Brake booster, 27 Nm
Remove the marked part.
Remove the part carefully
TRANSFERRING COMPONENTS
Remove the marked part.
Remove the screws.
Remove the marked part.
- Torque: Protective plate, to brake fluid reservoir, 2.5 Nm
- Torque: Protective plate, to hydraulic unit, 8.7 Nm
Remove the screw.
Torque: Brake fluid reservoir, to hydraulic unit, 3.6 Nm
Use suitable paper to absorb any escaping fluid.
Remove the marked part.
INSTALLATION
Make sure that the gaskets are correctly located.
Use new seals.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Perform Battery, connecting. Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING
Perform bleeding air brake system. Refer to: BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING
Calibration according to: Diagnostics / Components / Control modules/ Central Electronic Module (CEM) / Diagnostic sequences / Calibration of brake pedal sensor and brake pedal angle sensor
