Fuel Operated Auxiliary Heater, Checking [2017-2018, B4204T11 | 2016, B5254T12]: Removal
Remove the wheel, refer to: WHEELS
Follow instruction about safety information fuel system, refer to: SAFETY INFORMATION FUEL SYSTEM
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Ensure that the fuel quantity is approx. 10-15 liters, that is just above the point where the low fuel level indicator lamp goes out.
Run the Booster Heater.
If air bubbles are present when running the heater:
Run the Booster Heater.
If air bubbles are present when running the heater:
Special Tool: 999 7412 and Special Tool: 999 7413
Check the connectors between suction pipe and fuel pump (2).
Check for any signs of leakage on the fuel line connections between the fuel tank and heater.
Run the Booster Heater.
If there are no air bubbles, the fuel line between the quick-release connectors must be replaced.
Install a new Booster Heater Fuel Pump (1) with Fuel Lines.
Check the surfaces for abrasion.
If necessary
Remove fuel pump and level sensor unit, refer to: FUEL PUMP AND LEVEL SENSOR UNIT
Install new pipe, secure position as illustrated.
Use: Welding rod 1.5 mm
