Front SUBFRAME, Service Position [2016, B5254T12]: Removal
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
Make sure that the ignition key is removed.
Make sure that the steering column lock is engaged.
Make sure that the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.
Make sure that a new component is installed.
Torque: steering column to steering gear (steering shaft joint), 25Nm
ALTERNATIVE 1
Make sure that the tool fits.
If that is not the case, follow the instructions below.
On both sides.
WHEN NECESSARY, CARRY OUT THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTION.
ALTERNATIVE 2
Remove the screws.
Remove the marked part.
Torque: M10, 50Nm
Clean the marked area.
Note the position of the component before removal.
Mark using a pen
Remove the wheel, refer to: WHEELS
Remove collision member, refer to: COLLISION MEMBER

Loosen the screws.
Loosen the nuts.
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Make sure that all openings are sealed.
Release the connector catches.
Disconnect the connectors.

Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
VEHICLES WITH MECHANICAL POWER STEERING PUMP
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Make sure that all openings are sealed.
Disconnect the connector.
Loosen the screws.
Torque: M6, 10Nm

Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
Loosen the screws.
Torque: M6, 10Nm
Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.
On both sides.
Torque: Front stabilizer bar link to stabilizer bar, 70Nm
Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.
Loosen the nut.
On both sides.
Torque: Tie rod end to wheel knuckle, 80Nm
On both sides.
Remove the screw.
Torque: Brake caliper in steering arm, front, 120Nm
On both sides.
On both sides.
On both sides.
- Torque: Lower torque rod, 110Nm
- Torque: M10, 50Nm
Loosen the screws.
- Release the connector's catch.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Loosen the clip.
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the fasteners.
- Torque: M10, 50Nm

Torque:Subframe to chassis (Rear screws),
- Stage 1: 150Nm
- Stage 2: 90 °

Torque:Subframe to chassis (Front screws),
- Stage 1: 150Nm
- Stage 2: 90°
