Engine [2017-2018, B4204T11, TG-81SC AWD]: Removal
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
Remove the following items:
- air cleaner (ACL) housing, refer to: AIR CLEANER HOUSING
- battery, refer to: BATTERY
- plenum cover, refer to: PLENUM COVER
Loosen the screws.
Torque: M6, 10Nm
Release the lock.
Remove the hose.
Loosen the hose clamp.
Remove the hose.
Remove the nut.
Torque: M8, 24Nm
Loosen the clip.
Release the connector catches.
Disconnect the connectors.
Remove the nut.
Torque: M8, 24Nm
Remove the screw.
Torque: M6, 10Nm
Release the lock.
Remove the screw.
Torque: M6, 10Nm
Remove the nut.
Torque: M6, 10Nm
Remove the nut.
Torque: M8, 24Nm
Loosen the clip.
Remove the screws.
Torque: M6, 10Nm
Release the gearshift cable.
Remove the following items:
- the catalytic converter, refer to: CATALYTIC CONVERTER
- Drive shaft right, refer to: DRIVE SHAFT RIGHT
- Driveshaft left, refer to: DRIVESHAFT LEFT
- auxiliary drive belt, refer to: AUXILIARY DRIVE BELT
- Torque: Lower torque rod, 110Nm
- Torque: Lower torque rod bracket to transmission housing, 60Nm
Torque: Lower torque rod rear right, to Engine mount bracket, 110Nm
Perform cooling system draining, charging and bleeding, refer to: COOLING SYSTEM - DRAINING, CHARGING AND BLEEDING
Remove the engine cooling fan, refer to: ENGINE COOLING FAN
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the locks.
Undo the hoses from the connections.
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the lock.
Remove the hose.
Loosen the clip.
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Loosen the hose clamp.
Remove the hose.
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the lock.
Remove the hose.
Loosen the hose clamp.
Remove the hose.
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the lock.
Remove the hose.
Loosen the hose clamp.
Remove the hose.
Loosen the hose clamp.
Remove the hose.
Remove the clips.
Release the lock.
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the upper torque rod, refer to: UPPER TORQUE ROD
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the lock.
Remove the hose.
Release the connector catches.
Disconnect the connectors.
Remove the screws.
Torque: M8, 24Nm
Remove the screw.
Torque: M6, 10Nm
Remove the nut.

Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Loosen the clips.
Release the locks.
Undo the hoses from the connections.
Torque: M10, 50Nm
Special Tool: 999 2810 and Special Tool: 999 5185
Use: Engine lift
Remove the following items:
- Engine support insulator, right, refer to: ENGINE PAD RIGHT
- Engine support insulator left, refer to ENGINE PAD LEFT
This step requires the aid of another technician.
Make sure that no components catch.
