Testing The Battery

When testing the battery on this vehicle, VIDA's integrated automatic or manual battery test must be used and the result code attached in the event of a warranty claim.

On vehicles with battery monitoring sensor (BMS), the automatic battery test must be used, which uses the car's own electrical system to determine the battery's health. On vehicles without battery monitoring sensor (BMS), the manual battery test must be used and the test requires manual measurements.

To access the test in Volvo's VIDA, add a related CSC to the work list and go to DIAGNOSTICS/FAULT TRACE/SELECTED CSC, highlight CSC and select the battery test that suits the vehicle. Alternatively, the tests may be located under DIAGNOSTICS/VEHICLE COMMUNICATION/CEM/ADVANCED.
