Rear Drive Axle [2016, B4204T23; B4204T27 | 2017-2020, B4204T23; B4204T27, TG-81SC AWD]: Removal

NOTE:

Remove the wheel, refer to: WHEELS

CAUTION:

Make sure that a new bolt is installed.

Remove the screw.

CAUTION:

There are two different torque specifications, note the year ranges.

Torque: Driveshaft to wheel hub (rear), [2019] models.

Torque: Driveshaft to wheel hub (rear), [2016-2018, 2020] models.

CAUTION:

Make sure that new bolts are installed.

CAUTION:

Make sure that a new nut is installed.

Remove the screws.

Torque: Lower control arm rear to wheel knuckle (front mounting),
- Stage 1: 140 Nm
- Stage 2: 90 °
Torque: Track rod, to Wheel knuckle,
- Stage 1: 90 Nm
- Stage 2: 90 °

CAUTION:

Make sure that a new bolt is installed.

CAUTION:

Make sure that a new nut is installed.

Remove the screw.

Remove the nut.

Torque: Lower control arm rear to wheel knuckle (rear mounting)
- Stage 1: 90 Nm
- Stage 2: 120 °
Torque: Rear stabilizer bar link to stabilizer bar, 80Nm

Loosen the nut.

Torque: Rear upper control arm to wheel knuckle, 60Nm

Fold marked part aside.

WARNING:

Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

CAUTION:

Take extra care not to damage the seal.

Remove the marked part.

Use: Pry bar
