Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information SRS-023A
Condition
The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the switch for the passenger airbag.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers a configuration fault in the signal cable.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can only be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on (12 V). In other words, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can only be diagnosed when the ignition is switched from position 0 to positions I, II or III.
Substitute Value
- Passenger airbag is deactivated.
Possible Source
- The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) identifies that the switch for the passenger airbag is installed, despite the control module being programmed that it should not be installed.

- SRS indicator lamp lit
- PAD lamp lit.
