Turbocharger (TC), Quick Check

Turn off the engine and listen to the turbocharger at the moment of stopping

Normally, the turbocharger's rotating parts shall stop slightly after the engine.

If this is not the case: remove the inlet hose from the compressor housing. Then check that:

• compressor rotor turns easily when rotating
• the compressor wheel does not rub against the compressor housing
• that axial and radial clearance feels normal

Feeling a certain clearance is normal when checking as the shaft floats on an oil film.
