Resetting Service Message [2011-2013]
Resetting of the service message can be performed using the appropriate Volvo software, (VIDA) via (DIAGNOSTICS/VEHICLE COMMUNICATION/DIM/Advanced) or with button activation of the control panel in the passenger compartment as instructed below.
If the maintenance service includes both normal service and software download (e.g. Service 2.0) the service notification must be reset at the very end of the service process, after the software download and other procedures that can affect the power supply to the control modules. If it is not possible to follow the recommended order, ensure that the service message is reset after the control modules are given the opportunity for normal shutdown before starting further procedures. Normal shutdown occurs when the communication tool DiCE is disconnected and the ignition position is set to OFF and remains in that position for at least 3 minutes.
Carry out the following procedure to reset the service message:
- Ignition switch position I.
- Press and hold the trip odometer reset button.
- Ignition switch position II.
- Wait for 10 seconds.
- Release the reset button when the information lamp starts to flash.
The instrument beeps when resetting has been successful.
