Checking Components And Wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect special tool
see 9511506
from the connector for seat belt tensioner.WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner. This could deploy the seat belt tensioner
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the SRS control module.
Check the female and male parts of the connectors for the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and the seat belt tensioner. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) terminal #13C(9), terminal #14C(10) and connector terminal #1, terminal #3 on the right seat belt tensioner on the 3rd seat row. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the resistance between terminals #13C(9), #14C(10) to the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS). The resistance between the terminals should be infinite.
Remedy as necessary.

- To access and replace the seat belt tensioner, see SEAT BELT FRONT, REPLACING or SEAT BELT REAR, REPLACING
- To connect the breakout box, see CONNECTING THE BREAKOUT BOX
- With the ignition off and the connectors for the seat belt tensioner and the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) disconnected, the resistance between connector terminals #1 and #3 on the seat belt tensioner connector (Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) side) should be infinite
- With the ignition off and with the special tool see 9511506 connected, the resistance between the terminals on the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) connector should be infinite
