Checking Components And Wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect special tool
see 9511506
from the connector for seat belt tensioner.WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings from a disconnected undeployed seat belt tensioner. This could deploy the seat belt tensioner
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS).
Check the cable between the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) terminal #12A(12), terminal #11A(11) and connector terminal #1, terminal #3 on the left seat belt tensioner on the 3rd seat row. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.
Other information:
- To access and replace the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) and connector, see SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM MODULE (SRS), REPLACING
- To access and replace the seat belt tensioner, see SEAT BELT FRONT, REPLACING or SEAT BELT REAR, REPLACING
- To connect the breakout box, see CONNECTING THE BREAKOUT BOX
- With the ignition off and the connectors for the seat belt tensioner and the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) disconnected, the resistance between terminals #1 and #3 on the seat belt tensioner connector (Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) side) and the disconnected battery positive terminal should be infinite
- For information about removing the battery cables, see BATTERY, DISCONNECTING
- With the ignition off and the connector for the seat belt tensioner disconnected, the resistance between terminals #12A(12) and #11A(11) on the Supplemental Restraint System Module (SRS) connector should be infinite
