Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner. This could deploy the seat belt tensioner
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the SRS control module. There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the SRS control module.
Check the female and male parts of the connectors for the SRS control module and the seat belt tensioner. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
CAUTION:For V70 2000- with model year 2000 and 2001:
- If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-0083 for the right seat belt tensioner is registered, follow fault-tracing for the centre seat belt tensioner (SRS-007B).
- If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-007B for the centre seat belt tensioner is registered, follow fault-tracing for the right seat belt tensioner (SRS-0083).
Check the cable between the SRS control module and the connector terminal for the seat belt tensioner as follows:
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-0063,
front left seat belt tensioner terminals #5A(5) and #6A(6) and connector terminals #1 and #3
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-006B,
front right seat belt tensioner terminals #5C(1) and #6C(2) and connector terminals #1 and #3
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-0073,
rear left seat belt tensioner terminals #16A(16) and #15A(15) and connector terminals #1 and #3
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-007B,
centre rear seat belt tensioner terminals 17A(17) and #18A(18) and connector terminals #1 and #3
for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-0083,
rear right seat belt tensioner terminals #16C(12) and #15C(11) and connector terminals #1 and #3
for an open-circuit. See OPEN-CIRCUIT, PERMANENT FAULTS .
HINT: Checking the integrated capacitor in the igniter connector by taking resistance measurements.
HINT: With the ignition off, connect the test instrument probes between terminals #1 and #3 on the connector for the driver's airbag. The ohmmeter reading should rise rapidly to infinity.
HINT: Reverse the position of the ohmmeter positive and negative test probes. Connect them to the connector as in the previous measurement. The ohmmeter reading should drop rapidly to approximately 0 Ω and then increase to infinity.
Remedy as necessary.

- With the ignition off and the seat belt tensioner connector disconnected, the resistance between the seat belt tensioner connector terminals #1 and #3 (SRS control module side) must be approximately 22 kΩ.
