Checking The Operating Status

Ignition on.
Start the heater.
Read off the operating status and temperature of the heater.

HINT: The flame sensor should register the flame. If the temperature increases, even though status 3 is not obtained, the fault may be due to an open-circuit in the cable or the flame sensor may be blocked.

Check the cable between terminal #8 on the control module and the flame sensor for an open-circuit according to OPEN-CIRCUIT, PERMANENT FAULTS .
