Checking The Wire And Handbrake Contact

Check function of handbrake switch. Measure the voltage between 1 and ground.

HINT: When handbrake is on, pin 1 should be grounded. 

Check and measure the wire between combined instrument 6 and handbrake contact 1 for an open circuit as described in, see OPEN-CIRCUIT, PERMANENT FAULTS , and for a short circuit to voltage supply as described in SHORT-CIRCUIT TO SUPPLY VOLTAGE. PERMANENT FAULTS .
