Condition
If any of the starter motor relay, control solenoid or starter motor stick or are defective it can lead to the starter motor running after the ignition is switched off.
Possible Source
- The control signal to the starter motor relay is too high.
- Damaged starter motor relay.
- Damaged control solenoid.
- Damaged starter motor.
Fault symptom[s]
- The starter motor continues slowly when the ignition key has been released.
