Parking Assistance, Rear: Installation

Locate the two studs for the control module.

Take the holder for the control module from the kit. Press it onto the studs.

Disconnect the light-brown connector that is taped to the car's existing cable harness.

Remove the rubber plug.

Take the cable harness from the kit and route it through the hole. Install the rubber grommet.

Hook the connector onto the rail

Take the control module from the kit and connect the connectors.

Press the control module on the holder.

Check which holders are to be positioned where before installation. Each holder is marked and has its own location.

Apply two pieces of tape to the holder.
Remove the protective tape for the tape.

Apply a thin layer and even layer of adhesive

NOTE:

The adhesive must be above the level for the tape.

CAUTION:

The adhesive must not come into contact with the tape.

Use special tool: 9512950 Adhesive gun.

Use: 1161730 Mixing pipe.

Use: 9511027 Adhesive.

Install the centering tool in the holder.
Install the tool on the bumper cover.
Press the holder towards the casing, but only at the places where there is tape.
Hold the holder securely when removing the centering tool. The holder must be installed horizontally and in line with the bumper cover.
Repeat until all four holders are in place.

Connect the cable harness connectors to the sensors.

Install the sensors in their holders. Take care when installing so that the holder does not release from the tape.

NOTE:

The large gray connector must protrude from the right-hand side of the bumper cover.

Attach the cable holders to the covers flanges.

Lift up the bumper and connect the connector.

NOTE:

It is recommended that two people carry out this step to prevent damaging the bumper cover.

Press the bumper's hooks in at the rear edge. Press all the hooks for the ends into the body.
Reinstall the screws on the front edges of the bumper casing.
Reinstall the plastic nuts at the lower edge.
