Checking The Component And Wiring
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the special tool from the connector
- Disconnect the connectors from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed seat belt tensioner. The seat belt tensioner could deploy
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Check the connectors to the seat belt tensioner and the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). Check for damage to pins and terminals in the connectors.
Remedy as necessary.
Check the SRS ignition cables between supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the seat belt tensioner connector. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the cable between:
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #A28 and the connector for the rear left-hand seat belt tensioner terminal #1
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #A27 and the connector for the rear left-hand seat belt tensioner terminal #2.
Remedy as necessary.
