Checking The Component And Wiring
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the special tool from the connector
- Disconnect the connectors from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).WARNING:
Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected, non-deployed, pyrotechnical inflatable curtain. This could deploy the inflatable curtain
CAUTION:Do not touch the terminal pins in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Check the connectors to the inflatable curtain and the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). Check for damage to pins and terminals in the connectors.
Remedy as necessary.
Check the SRS ignition cables between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the inflatable curtain connector. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the cable between:
- Terminal #A37 on the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and terminal #1 on the left inflatable curtain connector
- Terminal #A38 on the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and terminal #2 on the left inflatable curtain connector.
Remedy as necessary.
