The starter motor cannot function correctly if there is a fault with the control solenoid, the carbon brushes or starter motor.

Possible Source 

• Damaged terminal.
• Damaged control solenoid.
• Worn carbon brushes or brush springs
• Damaged starter motor.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The starter motor does not turn.
